The Teutons Newbie's Guide / Recruiting Manual for Mentors

Welcome to our guild!

If you have never been in another guild before, you will get a little jump start here. This way you save us and yourself from unnecessary questions and problems.

Your first day as a Teuton

You can accept the invitation to our guild on our guild page. To do so, you must be logged in on www.tibia.com and visit the site Teutons Reloaded. Your character's name should stand at the very bottom of the page, right in the section "Invited Players". Click on the "Join guild" button to acknowledge the invitation.
If you are currently logged in on Nova while accepting the invitation, you have to log out and log in again to complete the joining process. Look at you character and be proud: You are a Recruit of the Teutons Reloaded.

Using the member call

Just like every other guild we have a member call. This is a chat room where only Teutons Reloaded can join.
Click on the registry card symbol at the top right of the client's chat window. Choose the channel "Teutons Reloaded" and open it. It is considered polite to say "Hello" in the member call if you visit Tibia and to say Goodbye if you leave again.
Even if you don't know everybody in the beginning of your membership, you should take part in the guild chat from time to time. Don't be afraid of asking a question. Nobody of us knew the meaning of BoH, how to change gold into platinum coins or where Kazordoon is, once he/she started to play Tibia. If you log in the next time, the member call will automatically be opened. You can switch between the chat windows with the Tab key on your keyboard. Anyway, even experienced members manage to say "hi", "change gold" etc. in the member call accidently.

Using the Forum

If you log in on www.tibia.com and go to the forum site (www.tibia.com/forum/index.php), there will be a new section "Private Guild Boards" at the very bottom of the page. You can reach the guild's forum this way. It is your duty to read this forum from time to time in order to keep pace with the current happenings inside and outside the guild. Nobody likes to answer questions which have already been answered in the forum.
The usage of the forum is quite simple. Normally, there shouldn't be any problems. Check it out instantly and introduce yourself in a new thread!

General behaviour directives (with PKs, in the guild etc.)

Being a Teuton means to behave friendly and sensibly. Don't say anything without thinking beforehand. Abusing, insulting, discriminating and mobbing within our guild will be punished consequently (warning, penalty, guild kick). Inadequate and imprudent behaviour is absolutely not arguable, be it inside or outside the guild. Killing other players (PKing) prematurely and/or without reason is strictly forbidden, just like theft, insults or otherwise agressive behaviour is/are.
At the other hand, you should always be as open-minded, as helpful and as nice as possible to others. Of course, nobody will take it amiss if you cannot help pushing anybody's lootbag because you are in the middle of a warlock hunt ;) . Keep always in mind that your behaviour towards other people is permanently formative concerning the guild's image, which we aren't willing to lose in any case.
If you have been killed by another player, keep calm and don't forejudge anything. Be sure that you have evidences for that crime (witnesses, screenshots) and talk to us in the member call. We will try to get in contact with the PK, talk to him/her and demand a compensation if necessary. The bad guy will be hunted NOT UNTIL every diplomacy has failed. Only leader and councellors may decide to put someone on the "black list".
The dimensions of the "hunting season" will be set in accordance to the PK's cruelty and (maybe) previous recordings. Anyway, always keep the official Tibia rules in mind! If you should want to revenge a friend by killing somebody else, you have to announce this in our forum. Always keep in mind that you aren't allowed to interfere without evidences, because the whole guild can be made responsible for your actions in the worst case!

Behaviour in the guild hall (GH)

Our first guild hall, the Granite Guildhall, is in Kazordoon. It is only a few steps to the south of the upper barracks. If you don't know how to get there, simply ask in our member call.
Our 2nd guild hall is in Venore: Valorous Venore.
In the guild hall, behave exactly as you want others to behave there. Don't block the floors, don't leave valuable things on the ground, and steal nothing! Of course you can take beer and wine for free from the casks.
If you get a room in the guild hall, don't ever forget to close the door behind you! Every other Teuton can enter your room if you leave the door open.

Screenshots

A screeny is the evidence number one. Though one can fake a screenshot, this is very elaborate, strikes and breaks the official Tibia rules. In order to create a simple screenshot, simply press the Print Screen button on your keyboard and the content of the whole screen will be copied to the clipboard. Open an application like Paint, Adobe PhotoShop or Corel PhotoPaint, paste the clipboard into a new file and save it. Since this is allowedly a bit complicate, there are a bunch of free tools available which save the content only of the currently active window to a compressed JPEG file if you simply hit a single button. One of these tools is the Ultima Online Screenshot Utility (UOSU), which you can download at the downloads-section on www.tibia.de. Especially newbies should permanently run such a tool in the background in order to be able to send a screenshot via eMail, if necessary. If possible, some "hot" screenshots should be uploaded to a webserver. ICQ and Yahoo! are only two of a whole bunch of services which allow you to use some megs webspace for free.

Paying the guildtax

Every Teuton (except some special ranks) must pay a fee of 500gp every month. Among other things, we need the money to pay the rent for the guild hall and other houses on Nova. The guildtax must be paid 4 months in advance, in fact, send a parcel with 5 platinum coins to Duppy/Carlin. You can find some more information at the link "Guildtax" at www.teutons.de.
You will be made responsible if you don't pay the guildtax regularly. Excuses like "I don't have the money..." are not accepted. Even a low level character needs at most one hour of hunting rotworms, trolls or dwarves to gain 500gp.

Questions?

Simply ask in the membercall. Nobody in our guild stays dumb ;)
